Tom Wheeler

Biography

Tom Wheeler has been making himself known in the drumming world. Taught by the likes of Robert Brian (Siouxsie Sioux/Peter Gabriel) Kieron Pepper (The Prodigy) and other world class drummers, Tom has received recognition by playing in Europe and all over the UK.

Tom started his drumming career at the age of 16 and became a student at Bristol Institute Of Modern Music (BIMM). He learnt his trade through playing with up and coming artists within the Bristol scene.

Tom Wheeler is drumming for bass music act 'Dr Meaker'. Support has been received from Radio 1 and 1xtra DJ's like Zane Lowe, Edith Bowman, Nick Grimshaw, Huw Stephens, Rob Da Bank, MistaJam, Ace and Vis, Crissy Chris, Bailey, Tom Robinson, Pete Tong as well as a host of support from music press (DJ, IDJ, Word, Art Rocker, Clash), online blogs and featured music on many TV shows including 'Skins' & 'Come Dine with Me'.

Dr Meaker have performed a live lounge session for MistaJam at Maida Vale Studios, and live studio sessions at 6MusicHub and XFM. Dr Meaker have played rip roaring sets at venues and Festivals across the UK and Europe including Glastonbury, Beach Break Live, Isle of Wight Festival, UK Snowboarding Championships in Switzerland and One Love Festival.

Tom Wheeler has recently recorded with producer Andy Henderson who has worked with FleetWood Mac, Natalie Imbruglia, Alison Moyet, Roni Size/Reprazent, Beverly Knight and Joker whilst recording the new Dr Meaker singles. Dr Meaker have singles signed to V Recordings, Ramajam Recordings, Sludge Records and Flightcase Recordings.

Tom is continuing to create waves with his drumming in the underground bass music scene.
