Christoph Schneider

Biography

Christoph "Doom" Schneider (born May 11, 1966 in Berlin) is better known as the drummer for German band Rammstein. His musical career started early, playing trumpet in school, eventually switched to drums at the age of 14 when he got his first drumkit.

He played in various independent bands, such as "Die Firma", where he met Rammstein guitarist Paul H. Landers. In the early 90s, he shared an appartment with Rammstein bass player Oliver „Ollie“ Riedel in Schwerin, later joined by Richard Z. Kruspe, lead guitarist for Rammstein.

Together with Till Lindemann (vocals) and Christian "Flake" Lorenz (keys) they formed Rammstein, releasing their first Album in 1995. Their ongoing success and fan support earned them millions of sold records, various awards and nominations. Their live shows are famous for their pyrotechnic performance and theatrics.

In 1999 along with Till Lindemann he performed in the movie "Pola X" (french production).
