SONOR hits big at this year's Drummer Live Festival!

Web Report Drummer Live Festival 2008

As the weekend closes, another fantastic Drummer Live festival ended. This year’s festival again was held in London at the Docklands ExCeL halls, and hosted Sonor’s Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson) and Jojo Mayer (Nerve, Independent).

Jojo performed Saturday at Main Stage 2 – the designated Drummer Live stage. With his incredible Drum ‘n Bass chops, stunning audience was left after he performed to a number of Nerve Tunes, and soloing on his Delite Birdseye Cherry Drumkit (20” Bass Drum, 8” & 10” Tom Toms, 14” Floor Tom, AS 07 1405 SB Artist Steel Black & AS 07 1305 EA Artist Earth Snare Drums, along with 600 Series Hardware).

Saturday Night saw Jojo performing with band – converting a Led Zeppelin song into a wicked Drum ‘n Bass song! - at Remo’s DrummerNight, a charity event for the Teenage cancer trust. For more information: www.teenagecancertrust.com

Gavin Harrison, busy with Porcupine Tree as well as King Crimson, hit the stage on Sunday to perform to Porcupine Tree tracks, as well as some tracks from his record he did with musician Ric05. Further he performed “19 Days”, one of the tracks featured on his latest DVD, Rhythmic Horizons and truly one of his polyrhythmic masterpieces!
After one hour he left the stage and his Designer Drumkit in spectacular “Earth” design (22” Bass Drum, 8” & 10” & 12” Tom Toms, 14” & 16” Floor Toms, 12” Snare Drum, along with 600 Series Hardware) with standing ovations.

Sonor would like to thank MB Media, especially Drummer mag and chief editor Ian Croft and his team for setting up such a great festival. See you in 2009!
