Sonor makes changes to management

Over the course of the past several months, Holding Matth. Hohner GmbH and the SONOR management have been dealing in-depth with setting the course for the future and, very specifically, with the question of retirement succession.

Today, SONOR GmbH is announcing that Managing Director Mr Karl-Heinz Menzel will not be renewing his contract as Managing Director following August 2017, and will withdraw from SONOR management.

In future, with his many years of experience, Karl-Heinz Menzel will dedicate his efforts mainly to the world's largest, and hence the most important, industry for musical instruments, North America. The focus here is on providing support for the new U.S. distribution partner and the establishment of a high-performance sales network for SONOR products.

The introduction and establishment of new products in this key market also form part of the overall strategy. The aim here is to ensure that SONOR expand its market share in future, particularly in the United States, in order to achieve medium- and long-term growth as a result. In addition, Karl Heinz Menzel will dedicate his efforts to passing along to the next generation all the knowledge gained during a career spanning four decades - market and product knowledge so is indispensable to the company.

SONOR has ensured the functional capability of all corporate divisions through organisational changes and personnel measures that have already been implemented. From September 2017, Mr Stefan Althoff will take the helm at SONOR, where he will initially serve as the company's sole Managing Director.
