S Classix Series

The new Sonor S Classix Series is designed for advanced and professional drummers alike, and for admirers of the classic Sonor looks of the 1960’s and 1970’s. Combined with the very latest features and timeless retro finishes, the Sonor S Classix set is becoming the centrepiece of the Sonor drum series. With an extensive range of individual components to choose from, the S Classix series offers everything you could want in a genuine Sonor drum series.

Sonor S Classix Sounds

With its thin birch shells made of Scandinavian birchwood, this series offers a convincingly pithy and compulsive sound with powerful treble and mid-range pitches and well-balanced deep tones. Whether it’s classic ‘60s beat, monster ‘70s grooves or modern performance – with a Sonor S Classix set, you’re equipped for anything.

Sonor S Classix Shell Design

Thin shells made of Scandinavian birchwood (thin birch shell). These shells deliver maximum strength, perfect curving and neutral tuning, thanks to tension-free cross lamination of the individual layers of wood (CLTF Cross Laminated Tension Free Process). The covered finishes are adhered across the entire surface of the shell for perfect looks and natural sound.

Tuning Lugs with TuneSafe – Right in Tune, 100% of the Time!

All of our lugs are equipped with the TuneSafe tuning-safeguard feature, which prevents tension screws from loosening during hard rim shots or where batter heads have been loosely tuned. The new square tension screws with fine-pitch threads guarantee optimum tunability. Slotted tension screws with fine-pitch threads remain available as accessories.

Tom Mounting System – Powerful Sounds Thanks to Minimal Shell Contact!

The vibration-free T.A.R. system (Total Acoustic Resonance) with APS provides for maximum resonance and sustain.

APS – Advanced Projection System

The Sonor tom mounting system, the bass drum bracket, bass drum and floor tom legs all come equipped with special APS rubber insulators that prevent direct contact between the metal parts and the wooden shells. This gives the drums a more dynamic, more precise sound.

Bass Drum Bracket – It’s Yours to Decide!

The standard S Classix Series bass drum is delivered without a bracket. You may order one as an option, however.

Bass Drum Claws – Protect Your Rims!

Rubber padding beneath the bass drum claws protects the wooden rim against damage.

Power Hoops – Clean Tuning and Crisp Attack!

2.3 mm Sonor Power Hoops on all snare drums. 14" snare drums with chrome-plated die-cast hoop rims are available as an option.

Bass Drum Spurs – Quick and Easy Set-Up!

Position clamps (Memory Locks) ‘remember’ the bass drum spur height you chose.

Bass Drum Legs – On Solid Footing, Everywhere You Go!

The bass drum legs can be turned around so that they rest on either the rubber or the metal end and can be adjusted using a fastening screw.
