Carl Orff Ensemble

This Ensemble, part of the Music High school Hannover, Germany, is all about team spirit. About 35 youths between ages of 13 and 20 are working together in a creative atmosphere, leaving space for ideas of each of the individuals. Conductor is Ulrich Ristau, the irreplaceable constant with enormous knowledge of youth work he gained since the existence of the Carl Orff Ensemble in 1983.
The Orff-Instruments teaching class, based on Carl Orff’s lifework, is just one of the offers of the Hannover Music High school. With a funded musical education starting from school enrolment, the students learn how to play all the different instruments, paving the way towards the Carl Orff Ensemble.
The Ensemble offers a wide variety of instruments and sounds, as well as the repertoire, that reaches from Bach to the Beatles, from Korean folk music to Samba, from Carl Orff to Mikis Theodorakis!
