Ritmo del Mundo
Stephan Emig (drums) | Nené Vásquez (percussion)
SPECIAL GUEST: Rodrigo Rodriguez (percussion)
Nené and Stephan have been doing clinics together for Sonor drums since 2006. Their performances contain grooves for drums & percussion in traditional salsa-music as well as in Pop-Rock or house and lounge-music.
Nené Vásquez from Venezuela who has worked with Shakira, Celia Cruz, Aterciopelados, Roachford and Mousse T. demonstrates the authentic playing-techniques for Conga, Bongo, Timbale and small-percussion. He explains how to create solo-ideas and how to practise these instruments.
Stephan Emig, drummer with Triosence and Hamid Baroudi, longyear clinician for Sonor Drums, explains how to bring these grooves and sounds to the drumset and why percussion in general is a major source of inspiration for every drummer in any style.
Especially for the SONOR Days 2010, percussionist Rodrigo Rodriguez will support Ritmo Del Mundo’s performance adding another percussion flavour highlight. A born Colombian, Rodrigo’s live playing credits includes work with the late Celia Cruz, Giovanni Hidalgo, Eddie Palmieri, Tony Martinez, Tito Nieves, Richie Ray, Jimmi Bosch, Ray Sepulveda, Dave Valentin, Frankie Morales, Los Hermanos Moreno, Chico Freeman, Albita Rodriguez, Cheo Feliciano, Josè Alberto “El Canario”, Julio Barreto, New York Salsa All Stars, to name a few. He currently resides in Europe and established himself as a respected musician, band director, master percussionist, composer, singer and rapper. Through his percussion workshops and recorded works, Rodrigo shares his knowledge and insight with up-and-coming percussionists.
