Giorgio Prette

I was born in Milan, Italy, in 1964.

I started playin' drums in 1985 and after a couple of local bands in 1990 I joined milanese band Afterhours in wich, after 23 years, I still play. Since then I recorded ten albums, of which three are in english, the last of those, ''Ballads for little Hyenas'' came out 2005, released through most of Europe and the U.S.A.

Over these years we had circa nine hundred shows across Italy, becoming a top live band in Italy's live scene. We opened shows for R.E.M. in 1999 and Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2002, amongst others. From 2006 to present we had seven U.S. tours through more than 35 states, as opening act or headlining. In the meanwhile we had collaborations and co-headlining tours with Mercury Rev, Twilight Singers, Greg Dully’s and Mark Lanegan’s Gutter Twins and most recently, reunion tour of Afghan Whigs.

In 2009 we were invited in Italys most famous tv musical show, ''Festival di San Remo'', winning the Critics Award. In 2010 we wrote and recorded the song ''Facile'' for most famous and historical Italian singer Mina. In 2011 we released our last studio album, that peaked at no. 2 in Italyian charts and we'll be on tour till the end of 2012 in Italy, plus ten shows in the U.S.. (in Italian language)
