Danny Cummings

Danny Cummings is a successful and busy drummer from Sheffield, UK. He started playing drums at the age of 12 in his school band. Cummings is also interested in playing percussion instruments. Therefore he loves African sounds and experimenting with electronic accents. 

Danny´s musical genre mainly includes Rock, Latin and Blues. So, it is no secret that musicians like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and The Beach Boys influenced his style. 

In his career as drummer and percussionist he recorded and performed with a variety of great artists. These inlcude ABC, Black, BluesClub, Bomb The Bass, Bryan Adams, Chris De Burgh, Clannad, Claudia Brucken, Daniel Beddingfield and David Sylvian. Moreover the Dire Straits featured Danny Cummings on percussions in their album On Every Street. 

Further artists Cummings played with were Dusty Springfield, Elton John, Gavin Friday, George Michael, Heather Nova and Holly Johnson. His list goes on with Jarabe De Palo, Johnny Haliday, Kiko Veneno, Kim Wilde, Les McKewan, Liza Minneli, Murray Head, Orange Juice, Paul Carrack, Paul Rutherford, Penguin Café Orchestra, Phil Collins, Phil Thornally, Pino Daniele, Pulp, Radio Futura, Randy Crawford, Salif Keita & Steve Hillage, Sam Brown, Sandy Shaw, Scott Walke, Simply Red, Steve Nye, Talk Talk, The Associates, Tim Finn, Vicente Amigo, Wham and Will Young.

Cummings also played drums and percussion for Mark Knopfler´s albums Kill to Get Crimson, Get Lucky and All the Roadrunning. He moreover went on tours with Knopfler with all three albums.
