Growing up in a musical household in Southwestern Ontario, Nathan started gigging in his early teens, playing in punk, pop and rock bands, with hip hop artists, in musical theatre productions, and even with a symphonic concert band. Versatility was always his main focus, leading him toward a more complex drumming style, and ultimately pursuing prog and metal music after discovering a passion for the genres.
In the spring of 2014, while working with his band Auras on their second release entitled Crestfallen, Nathan received a call asking if he would fill in for the drummer of the band of Canadian rock royalty, Kim Mitchell. At only 24 years old he cemented himself as a go-to session player and touring option, and soon after, joined Toronto instrumental prog rock act Intervals, and has spent much of each year since then on tour with the band through multiple album cycles.
In 2024, Intervals released their highly anticipated fifth studio album entitled Memory Palace, which featured Nathan’s distinctive drumming style, and had an extensive touring schedule with the band supporting acts such as Spiritbox, Tesseract and Mammoth (led by Wolfgang Van Halen) which has paved the way for a strong future from that success.
During that same timeframe, Nathan wrote and recorded drums for music in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in his home studio in Cambridge, Ontario, working remotely with the legendary Kevin Sherwood on easter egg songs for the Zombies maps, and songs that feature artists like Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil and Matt Heafy of Trivium. He also performed at the 2024 Victoria Drum Fest alongside peers such as Rob Brown, Giulliana Merello (Karol G), Cody Ash (Jelly Roll) and Greyson Nekrutman (Sepultura).
Nathan wrapped up 2024 with a Drumeo Awards nomination for Progressive Drummer of the Year and is currently in the studio as a session drummer for Canadian metal giants Protest the Hero, writing and recording drums with the band as part of a multi-year commitment toward multiple releases.
Throughout 2025 and beyond you can catch Nathan live on tour with Intervals across the globe, with Auras around southern Ontario, or with new emerging country music artist Carson Janik throughout pockets of Canada.
