Stergos Foutoulis

Stergos Foutoulis was born in Rhodes Greece in 1980.

He started playing drums at a young age as a self-taught player until at the age of 16 he took lessons with a local teacher where he learned to understand notes and read music.

The first genre he dealt with was rock music! When he later went to study Civil Engineering in UK, he met other fellow students and formed his first band with experimental rock sound!

In England he attended seminars from the hottest drummers of that time such as Russ Miller, Walfredo Reyes Jr, and Gregg Bissonette.

The latter were the reason he got involved with Latin music, which he incorporated into his playing. Progressive was a genre that someone could easily incorporate elements from other music.

When he returned from England after his studies, he played with various bands, making live and recordings both in Athens and in Rhodes.

Alongside the drums, he worked for a while with Martial Arts such as Ving Tsun and Ju Jitsu, in which he holds a black belt.

He was for three years a student of one of the best drummers in Greece, Stefanos Dimitriou, until he decided to take it one step further and become a personal student of Dom Famularo.

Dom Famularo was the man who believed in him the most!

The relationship between student and teacher was so strong that Dom announced at the end of the first year of teaching that Stergos was one of his best students and that all of this had to come out.

At his urging, Stergos opened his Instagram account and started uploading videos.

Many world famous drummers have followed the profile on instagram and many fans all over the world watch the videos. Stergos was a beloved student of Dom Famularo who, until the end of his life, did not stop supporting him and believing in him. He then became a student of Claus Hessler for a year. He has attended drum clinics at drum festivals in UK by John Jr Robinson, Terry Bozzio, JoJo Mayer and others.

In recent years he has been the drummer of the Progressive rock band OutPass and of course he is actively involved with Instagram and Online teaching.
