Yaahn Hunter Jr

Yaahn Hunter Jr’s passion for music began at the age of three beating on pots and pans with two wooden spoons. Yaahn began playing the drums at his father’s church, New Faith Cathedral, Church of God In Christ (C.O.G.I.C.) at the age of eight. At the age of 14, Yaahn was featured on Gospel Chops showcasing the “Triple Back Beat “. This video has generated over 400,000 views.

Yaahn began playing the organ, piano and keyboard at the age of 14. Over the years, Yaahn has had the opportunity to play for gospel icons and new artists such as: Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Twinkie Clark (All Grammy Award Winning Gospel Artists), Timothy Wright, Kim Burrell, Judith McAllister, Beverly Crawford, Norman Hutchins, Byron Cage, Marvin Sapp, David Daughtry, Tasha Page-Lockhart and many more.

Yaahn’s father, Dr. Yaahn Hunter Sr. introduced him to recording in a studio setting. Yaahn Jr. began recording, producing, mixing and mastering his own original music at the age of 12 years old using two vintage synthesizers: Roland D-20, Ensoniq SQ-1 and Roland Doctor Rhythm 880 drum machine. He has now composed and written over 1,000 songs that have been placed on numerous mainstream records. In the summer of 2007 Yaahn Hunter Jr. received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2008. While at Berklee, he learned music theory and studio engineering. This acquired knowledge has propelled his musicianship, production, mixing and mastering skills over the years. In the summer of 2012, Yaahn graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Production and Engineering. Later in 2012, Yaahn started his own production business, Yhuntermusic Productions. Since then, he has produced for Stellar Award and Grammy Award Artists such as: The Walls Group, Alic Walls, Jason and Geneen White. He has also produced for Rising Gospel Stars such as: Naomi Raine, Chastity, Dayanna Redic, Quinese, Louie Lou, Lauren Denise Byrd, Dale Anthony & Faith Out Loud, iAmSon, Dameon Brown and many more.
