The idea that music begins inside human beings was the basis of Carl Orff’s music pedagogical concept, intended to inspire children to take part in elemental music-making.
For him and also for us at SONOR music is one of the most important means of developing and expressing personality.
As early as 1956 we started handcrafting precision-tuned instruments that make possible, what is most important to us:
transforming the lives of children and helping them develop their full potential through making music.
In 2025 we celebrate 150 years of Tradition, Quality and Craftsmanship with the limited
150th Anniversary TAKX 100 Xylophone.
This instrument is a tribute to one of the most iconic instruments, our Meisterklasse TAKX 100, which merges tradition, innovation and appearance by combining best sound materials with our groundbreaking developments.
The sound bars are made of PALISONO, a non-hygroscopic material specially designed, developed and introduced by SONOR in 1976, which does not react to humidity or temperature changes and ensures an improved tuning stability. Each sound bar is precision-tuned by hand.
The resonator box is lovingly handcrafted by our master craftsmen to ensure rattle-free acoustic resonance and refined with an outer Walnut Roots veneer as well as Gold applications for an exceptional appearance.
The 150th Anniversary TAKX 100 Xylophone is strictly limited to 25 pieces worldwide.
