Adam Marko was born in 1982, Budapest - Hungary. Session musician, clinician, educator, producer. Nominated for the ’BEST PROG DRUMMER’ by Rhythm Magazine and Musicradar in 2018.
Adam is the drummer and motor of the modern instrumental band SPECIAL PROVIDENCE which has become one of the most well known and appreciated progressive metal quartets in the European progressive scene with their virtuoso, yet easily digestible style. Supported and toured with such bands as Dream Theater, Spock’s Beard, Haken, Steve Hackett etc.
In 2017 he formed a duo with the extraordinary pianist Zsolt Kaltenecker. Their duo invites the listeners to a special musical journey: from electronica and minimal music to jazz and progressive rock, many styles are recalled live on two instruments, keyboards and drums. The minimal setup is really challenging and also gives air and space for the artists to showcase their abilities as musicians. With their virtuoso yet easily digestible style and dynamic stage presence makes them a captivating live act with performances and tours EU wide
Besides his own bands, Adam is one of the best employed session drummers in Hungary, able to take on various styles from hip-hop across pop to rock and metal. The musical diversity and individuality in music are the two keystones in his playing and his music. Having started playing drums at the age of four, Adam grew up in a musician family, started with classical studies and later graduated at the Kőbánya Music Studio which is one of the biggest universities of jazz/rock music in Hungary whereby his band Special Providence were formed.
