Francisco Lima was born in Porto in 1981, he began his musical studies at the age of 13, he attended the Valentim de Carvalho and Atelier de Percussão do Porto schools, later he traveled to Germany, where he took classes with Claus Hessler.
He completed his degree in Human Resources in 2007 and devoted himself to examining and refining teaching methods in the musical domain.
He attended several workshops and masterclasses, with renowned names such as Steve Gadd, Benny Greb, Michael Lauren, Dom Famularo, Jost Nickel, Florian Alexandru-Zorn, Billy Cobham, Gergo Borlai, Simon Phillips, Craig Blundell, among others. He has given dozens of workshops and masterclasses in schools over the years, as well as appearing at some drum festivals.
He founded Armazém 508, an educational space that aims to provide a differentiated response to musical learning, in 2014 Francisco was also coordinator for 13 years of the 1st Festival dedicated to drums in Portugal, Lavra Percussion and Drums Festival.
He has worked with several artists, including Nuno Ribeiro, Souls Of Fire, Tony Carreira, Shanna Waterstown, Sara Carreira, João Paulo Rodrigues, Ricardo Carriço, Armin Abolfathi among many others.
At the moment he fills his daily life between teaching drums, touring and studio sessions. Francisco Lima is an endorser of Sonor Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Heats Drumheads.
