"Drumming is my passion... It’s far more than an expression or way to a career, It’s simply an obsession."

Switzerland Rock

Lukas Breitenstein

Lukas Breitenstein was born in Bern, Switzerland in 1983. With eight years he joined the local Marching Band and started to play drums. He attended the Music School in Burgdorf till he was 18 years old. His first band was called "sweet assistance". But the best thing was yet to come... In 2003 he joined the band "groombridge", a progressive-alternative rockband. They released an EP, five albums, toured through half of Europe in a self-tinkered caravan, and also embarked on three China-tours in 2011, 2013 and 2014. They played gigs at huge Open-Airs like Gurtenfestival or ZMF Freiburg as well as club shows in famous locations such as Logo, Hamburg, Proud, Camden (London), Dachstock, Bern or Fri-Son, Fribourg.

Throughout the years, they steadily built up a fanbase, managed to get airplay on important swiss radio and tv stations and have become an insider tip for outstanding live performances. Needless to say, that Lukas improved his drumming over this time. At present, the band is working on a new album and is always up for some crazy ideas... the story with groombridge > to be continued!
