Mark Eshuis

Mark was born in Groesbeek (The Netherlands) in 1961. He started to play the snaredrum first in a brassband, but soon changed to drums. In his early teens he started to practice seriously and when he was fifteen he already did his first studio-session.

In 1980 Mark was admitted to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, from wich he graduated 1987. He studied drums with Henk v/d Berg, Clarence Becton and Cees Kranenburg, but also followed classes in harmony, piano and history.

During his studies here, he had the chance to play with and learn from many great musicians like John Scofield, Michael Brecker, Kenny Kirkland, Daryl Jones and John Clayton.

Already at the end of his study Mark started touring with several theater shows like Barnum (with Mike Burstyn), Cabaret (with Willem Nijholt), Andre van Duin Revue, Les Miserables, Berdien Stenberg, Tom Parker, Vicky Brown, Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, Brigitte Kaandorp and many more....

Mark also toured, played and recorded with Anita Meyer, Rob de Nijs, Randy Crawford, Harry Saksioni, Scott Hamilton, Cor Bakker, Alphonzo Johnson, The Tree Degrees, Tavares, The Tramps, Bill van Dijk, Big Black & Beautifull, Jan Akkerman, Paul de Leeuw, Willeke Alberti, Liesbeth List, Margriet Eshuijs, Johnny Meijer, Imaani, Kaz lux, Madeline Bell and Lee Towers.
