Philipp Schmid

Philipp Schmid grew up in Oberkulm AG and completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic. In 2007 he started to study music for drums and percussion at the Dante Agostini Drum School Paris in Olten and graduated with distinction "Premiere Prix avec félicitation". The basics of drumming he learned with the age of 6 with the tambours. Because one drum at the time was not enough he decided to visit the drum lesson by Christopher Blattner, Ruedi Maurer and Noby Lehmann.

With the age of 12 he played his first live shows with his rock band and shortly afterwards Philipp made his first studio experience. During his military service, he played drums in the military band and later in the Swiss Army Concert Band. He extended his musical foundation without losing his roots in rock, funk and soul.

In the recent years, he played over 500 concerts in Switzerland and abroad with various bands. He toured among others with Rhythm Talk three weeks in California in autumn 2007 and 2010. Philipp plays at the world famous Ice Gala "Art on Ice" since 2010 and since 2012 he is the drummer for the Seat Music Session. He also can be heard on several albums as a session musician.
