Tom Wheeler is a Professional Session drummer based in Bristol, UK. Tom has a BA Hons in Professional Musicianship and studied at the British Institute Of Modern Music. He has gained a lot of experience in the industry sharing the stage with many top acts, musicians and has had the pleasure to have been taught by world class drummers such as Robert Brian (Peter Gabriel/ Siouxsie Sioux) Kieron Pepper (The Prodigy) Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter) and Jon Harper (CSS/Imogen Heap) to name a few. Tom has supported acts such as Bastille, Disclosure, UB40, Rudimental, Sub Focus, GhostPoet, Flux Pavilion to name a few.
Tom Wheeler is currently the drummer in bass music act Dr Meaker. Dr Meaker are a band on the rise after doing a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for Trevor Nelson which featured on the number 1 album 'BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge'. Their singles 'Music In The Night', 'Fighter' and 'Don't Think It's Love' were all playlisted on BBC Radio 1Xtra. Dr Meaker secured their first Top 40 dance hit with their single 'Right Back' ft Sian evans. Supporters of Dr meaker have been plenty from Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Huw Stephens, Clara Amfo and many more. Tom has played at many of the major festivals in the UK and Europe including Glastonbury Festival on the Silver Hayes stage, Bestival, Isle Of Wight festival, Blissfields, Secret Garden Party, Ostrava Festival in Czech Republic, UK Snowboarding Championships in France/Switzerland to name a few.
This year is set to be a big year for Dr Meaker as their brand new album 'Dirt&Soul' will be unleashed to the world on the mighty Circus Records.
Tom is continuing to create waves with his drumming in the underground bass music scene and making himself known in the drumming world. Tom also produces and performs with brand new Bristol bass duo Paragon.
