Dean Byrne

Dean Byrne is a musician based in Dublin, Ireland. Having started drumming at age 14, Dean quickly dedicated his time to studying various styles and genres of drumming. Further he completed the Trinity and Guildhall Grade Exams in 2008. Later he moved to University College Dublin to study music further, graduating with a B.A in 2013.

Having played with numerous notable bands on the Dublin music scene, Dean became a founding member and drummer of Irish indie band Leaders of Men in 2011. The band quickly gained a dedicated following and have gone on to play at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Indiependance, Longitude, and Reading & Leeds, sold-out shows in Ireland and the U.K. Also prominent T.V shows on RTE, TV3, TG4 and RTL have featured them. Besides shows they recorded with producers Cameron Blackwood, Ciaran Bradshaw, Gethin Pearson and Dan Austin.

Alongside playing with Leaders of Men, Dean has been a fixture on the Dublin music scene in numerous cover bands, blues groups, trios and orchestras. Dean is also currently head drum tutor at Kill School of Music, Co. Kildare.
