Harald Tanschek

Harry Tanschek studied Drums at the University of Music and performing Arts in Graz, Austria. After his graduation in 1997 and a Berklee Scholarship in his pocket, Harry moved to Boston (USA) and studied at the Berklee College of Music. 1999 – 2003 he worked as a freelance musician, resident in Boston, USA. In that time he worked with different Artists such as Hal Crook, Chico Freeman, Lee Konitz, Phil Woods, Richard Galliano, George Garzone, Mark Murphy, Clark Terry, Jay Clayton, Sheila Jordan, Rick Beckham, Bob Brookmeyer, Jerry Bergonzi, Doug Johnson, to name a few.  

Since 2003 he lives in Vienna, Austria. Harry is a very versatile Drummer and his abilities cover many styles. His range includes Jazz (Doug Johnson Trio, Grace Kelly Quintet, USA), Latin (Jose Ritmo y Cacao, Endrina Rosales Group, Dominican Republic/Cuba, Venezuela), Drum'n Bass/House Bands (Karimski Club, El Greco, Poland), and Balkan Bands (Martin Lubenov Orkestar, Bulgaria).    

Besides working as a freelance musician, Harry is also a demanded Educator. He teaches at the conservatory "Vienna Music Institute". He also teaches at the Summer-Jazzcamp of the Webster University/St.Louis in Cracow (PL) and at the Latin/Jazzcamp in Zeilern (Austria).
