Helmut Zerlett

Helmut Zerlett, born in '57, lives and works in Cologne. Already in the 80s he had his first chart successes and began to compose music for films. During this time he was involved with Joachim Witt at the "Neue Deutsche Welle", studied with Stockhausen student Holger Czukay, produced various artists in London and New York and played live and in the studio with Marius Müller Westernhagen for over 20 years. At the same time he worked intensively on various film projects. 

He became especially well known as musical director, organist and sidekick of the late night shows with Harald Schmidt from 1995 to 2014.

Furthermore, Zerlett is a member of the executive committee of DEFKOM (German Film Composers Union) and a member of the German Film Academy.
