Hugo Danin is one of the most prominent drummers in Portugal, having built his career over more than 25 years. Throughout his career, he has traveled the world promoting drum education, participating in numerous events and masterclasses to grow as an educator and spread his work as much as possible. He has conducted numerous masterclasses in Portugal, England, Spain, France, among others.
From 1990 to 1998, he attended the Mayeusis Music Conservatory (Vigo, Spain), where he studied with Marcos Válcarcel, Salvador Niebla, among others.
In 1998 and 2003, he attended the Drummers Collective in New York City, studying with names such as Kim Planfield, Michael Lauren, Mike Clark, Bobby Sanabria, Duduca da Fonseca, Ian Fromam, John Patituci, Frank Katz, among many others.
In 2000, he founded the Porto Percussion Workshop where he has served as director and teacher ever since.
With over 20 years of experience in the field of music and music education, he has worked in public, private, and university teaching.
He is the author of the books "Rhythmic Creativity - Method for the Technical and Musical Understanding of the Drum Set" and "THE DRUMMING TRACK CONCEPT - 5 steps to building a work method."
