He started the piano at the age of 10 under the influence of his father. When he was a junior high school student, he joined the junior high school brass band club. He was in charge of percussion at the club.
He started to play in bands as a drummer during his high school days. At the age of 16, he was heavily impressed by the music of Takashi Numazawa. He enrolled in the percussion department of Hiroshima University to professionally study drums/percussion and graduated in 1997.
He has also worked as a songwriter, composer and has ever since expanded his musical horizon that goes way beyond Pop and Rock Music.
