Peter Ivshin

An artful drummer, bandleader, composer and arranger, one of the most in-demand musicians of the Russian jazz stage. It’s hard to name a Russian band with whom Ivshin has not played: his mastery has been generally recognized. Peter belongs to the kind of drummers who consider music itself to be their priority. His playing is virtuosic, meaningful and dramatic.

Ivshin graduated from the upscale Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in 2006, while his first collaborative project «Sunlight» was launched in 2002. Among nationally renowned bands who engaged Ivshin are «Igor Boyko Band», «Trans-Atlantic», «Vision of Sоund», «SPB Funk Alliance». He is a regular member of Arkady Shilkloper’s trio. Peter played with such musicians as Chuck Loeb, Eric Marienthal, Dave Koz, Phil Perry, Brian Simpson, David Sanborn. Peter Ivshin’s drums are heard on more than 30 releases: he’s a highly sought-after sessional musician. Peter participated in dozens of international jazz festivals in Russia, France, Netherlands, Estonia, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Austria. In 2017 Ivshin released his first double album "The Path Of The Hermit", where he appears as a composer and bandleader.
