Raphael grew up in the middle of Germany, in Hessen. After taking drum lessons at the local music school, he studied drums at the Future Music School in Aschaffenburg and at the Rock Pop Jazz Akademie Mittelhessen in Gießen, teached by Anselm Wild, Dirk Brand, Pitti Hecht, Jost Nickel, Benny Greb, Claus Hessler, Reiner Kallas, Simon Gattringer and many more.
Besides he started what he loves. Working as a session drummer.
Since the age of 17 he toured with many different artists around the globe, from USA to Libanon.
Besides touring, he feels very comfy in the studio as well. He worked with Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper etc.), Moses Schneider (Beatsteaks, Seeed, Dendemann etc.) and many many more.
In 2022 he took part of the Hamburger Popkurs. Currently Raphael is playing with his own Band JUNO17 and for Balu and Sarah Bugar and many other as a Sideman.
